How NASA’s budget compares to other government organizations

According to the Federal Budget website, NASA takes up about .5% of the annual federal budget. In the US discretionary budget, science and technology is given around 3%, NASA is considered a part of that, but the military is given around 50% of the discretionary budget, with the next closest department being the department of education at a whopping 8%. In fact, the only 2 governmental departments given less than science and tech. are Housing/ Community and Agriculture. Overall, NASA’s budget is so minuscule that it would not do a great service to other organizations by cutting it. 58346fcceafaf5f752e59caaee0d834f
